We turn abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.We are seeking a junior Geoscientist or Engineer to support brownfield redevelopment projects. The role involves implementing characterization and remediation solutions for industrial and government clients while ensuring safety and quality. Responsibilities
Plan and execute field investigation activities. Interpret environmental data and prepare Phase I&II reports, conceptual site models, and other technical reports. Collect environmental samples (soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, soil vapour) and prepare reporting. Support project execution and ensure safety compliance. Drive innovation and promote the use of digital tools and electronic data capture.Build strong relationships with clients and work with account managers to secure new work. Qualifications
Engineer‑in‑training (EIT), geoscientist‑in‑training (GIT) or eligibility to obtain status with Engineers and Geoscientists BC. 0–3 years of professional experience in environmental site assessments, characterization, risk assessment, remediation, and site closure. Ability to travel for remote client and project site visits and adapt to unpredictable field conditions.Physically fit to perform fieldwork up to 90% of the time; able to use respirators as required. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Valid Canadian driver’s licence. Computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Preferred Qualifications
Practical field experience in soil logging, monitoring well installation, and groundwater or soil sampling. Knowledge of the BC Environmental Management Act and BC Contaminated Sites Regulation. Familiarity with environmental software and electronic field data capture. Salary Range
$66,300.00 to $116,000.00 (dependent on location and experience). Working Arrangement
Hybrid policy allowing split work weeks between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations.
