BCIT’s School of Transportation is seeking regular, full-time (1.0 FTE) BCGEU Faculty, Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Category ‘E’ (Electronics) and two regular, full time (1.0 FTE) BCGEU Faculty, Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Category M (Maintenance). These roles are associated with the technical program area at the Aerospace Campus to teach in the AMEM or E program. The successful candidates will deliver the approved Transport Canada and Canadian Council of Aviation and Aerospace curriculum for the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Category ‘M’ (Maintenance) or Category ‘E’ (Electrical) programs. Positions - BCGEU Faculty, Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Category M (Maintenance) - BCGEU Faculty, Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Category ‘E’ (Electronics) Duties and Responsibilities - Teaching, evaluating and preparing for the delivery of theory (in class) and practical (in shop) activities. - Performing administrative duties includes grading all types of student evaluations including assignments, practical projects, quizzes, exams and/or test. - Completing curriculum maintenance and program enhancement. - Communicating and collaborating with the Department Heads, faculty members, program assistants and other support staff e.g. library, test centre. - Ability to demonstrate knowledge and practical skills necessary to instruct all aspects of the approved curriculum based on the applicable accrediting bodies e.g. Canadian Council for Aviation and Aerospace (CCAA) and Transport Canada (TC). - Ability to apply knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR) 566 and how it relates to the AME personnel licensing system. - Performing duties directly related to the support and delivery of the programs. Salary Range: $78,133 – $115,805 per annum. Additional salary information: Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment.
