ERHL is an Indigenous-focused primary health care clinic that offers wraparound healthcare to First Nations, Inuit, & Métis individuals and families. The goal of ERHL is to provide access to care that is safe and respectful of cultural beliefs. ERHL is made up of an interdisciplinary team providing medical support from physicians, nurses, and specialists. Connection to traditional FNMI healing and cultural services is supported by Elders/Knowledge Keepers. Outreach staff help clients with crisis and resource navigation, case management, and advocacy. The vision of ERHL is to have healthy Indigenous communities that are connected and empowered to access healthcare. The Traditional Wellness Coordinator (TWC) provides spiritual and cultural support to diverse Indigenous Peoples seeking primary health care services. Respecting the historical impact of colonization, the beauty and diversity of Traditional Indigenous cultures, and the complex contemporary medical approaches to health, the TWC establishes relationships that enable trust and healing and connect clients with traditional Indigenous healing services. They provide advocacy, support, counseling, navigation, and education within a harm reduction and trauma informed practice, providing consultation and assistance to the health care team regarding appropriate accommodations of Indigenous health practices and beliefs. The TWC will support the Elders/Knowledge Keepers, respecting traditional protocols. Having training and guidance in the use of traditional Indigenous approaches to wellbeing. Having the ability to facilitate connection to traditional healing practices. Previous experience in a health care setting or in a human services field. Advanced experience/knowledge of Indigenous healing methods, culture and traditions. As a bona fide occupational requirement, and under Section 11 of the Alberta Human Rights Act, only Indigenous applicants will be considered. Some post-secondary education with diploma/college certificate in related health care discipline. If part of a registered profession, registration in good standing with applicable governing body. Combination of experience and education will be considered. **Additional Required Qualifications:** Minimum 5 years experience working with Indigenous Peoples and communities. Knowledge and respect for the diversity of Indigenous populations, communities, and political structures. Knowledge of Indigenous history, worldview, perspectives, healing practices, beliefs/values, culture and traditions and spirituality. Ability to facilitate connection to traditional healing practices. Education and/or experience working in healthcare, addiction, and mental health. Experience in a health care setting or human services field. Experience working in a culturally diverse environment. Demonstrated ability and comfort with coaching and teaching individuals and groups. Effective oral and written skills and use of computer software (Connect Care, Microsoft Office, etc.). Evidence of strong interpersonal and communication skills. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently or within a team. Evidence of initiative, flexibility, and strong commitment. Demonstrated punctuality, adaptability, discretion, and confidentiality. Must be able to identify own learning needs and seek guidance in professional practice where knowledge deficits occur. **Preferred Qualifications:** Degree in health care, social sciences and/or humanities would be an asset. Ability to speak or understand an Indigenous language an asset. Group facilitation skills and experience would be an asset.
