We are a fully delegated Indigenous Children&Family Service Agency providing programs and services to Indigenous children, youth, and families on and off reserve within Stó:lō Territory in the Fraser Valley between Yale First Nation and Surrey BC. Strengthen culture and identity in partnership with our Elders Advisory Council. Work holistically to keep families together and reintegrate children back with their families and extended families. Position Summary
This Float Social Worker Position requires a regular full‑time employee to be scheduled in any of our offices in Chilliwack, Agassiz, or Hope. Under the guidance and supervision of a Delegated Team Leader, Social Workers on multidisciplinary teams are responsible for developing trusting and respectful relationships with children, families, and communities that the agency serves. Float Social Workers contribute across the entire social work service delivery spectrum.Education, Experience&Knowledge Required
Bachelor of Social Work Degree, Child and Youth Care Degree, or a Social Sciences degree. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the human services field (asset). A combination of related education and experience may be accepted. Must be delegated or willing to attend training for C6 delegation in BC.Demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships with children, families, Indigenous communities, foster parents, biological parents, and other staff; to develop contractual arrangements; to balance competing priorities; to work under pressure; to write concise reports; to represent and promote the agency; and to conduct investigations, complete assessments, develop work plans, implement plans, and evaluate intervention success.Ability to comply with practice standards set out in the Child Protection Response Policy, B.C. Child, Family and Community Services Act, and the AOPSI Manual. Demonstrated knowledge of the generational impacts of colonization, the Residential School System, and historical child welfare policies; and of the findings of the TRCC and its recommendations.Knowledge and appreciation of Stó:lō cultural practices and traditions and how culture impacts the development of individuals and communities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively to provide coordinated service. Excellent written communication skills.Strong commitment, flexibility, problem‑solving, and dispute‑resolution skills. Computer literacy in databases, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other software. Valid BC Driver’s License (no restrictions) and reliable transportation. Criminal Records Check is required. Responsibilities
