Become an integral part of Xyólheméylh as a Social Worker Assistant in Agassiz, BC. This full-time role is dedicated to uplifting Indigenous children, youth, and families through direct support and teamwork.
In this crucial position, you will assist Social Workers in daily casework activities, helping bridge the gap for youth in care. You will be responsible for gathering key information, coordinating administrative tasks, and helping families engage with necessary community services. Emphasizing a holistic approach, your work will be rooted in Indigenous values and commitment to family integrity.
Key Responsibilities:• Support Social Workers with case management and documentation • Facilitate youth access visits and services coordination • Conduct file reviews and manage community referrals • Communicate with family and community partners effectively • Participate in case conferences for collaborative assessments
Requirements:• Minimum grade 12 education with related certification • At least 2 years of relevant experience in child services • Understanding of the Child Family and Community Services Act • Strong problem-solving and communication skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and databases required
