Senior Revenue Accountant - Robert Half (Edmonton)

Robert Half is partnering with a leading, high-growth SaaS technology company headquartered in Vancouver to find an exceptional Senior Revenue Accountant. Our client is a well-established and rapidly scaling organization with a global footprint, known for its collaborative culture and commitment to innovation. This is a high-impact role sitting within a high-performing Finance team, reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager. The Role As Senior Revenue Accountant, you will serve as the company's internal subject matter expert on ASC 606 and own the end-to-end global revenue accounting process. You'll be a key partner to Sales and Legal teams via the Deal Desk, advising on complex contract structures to ensure compliant revenue recognition. You'll also manage revenue automation systems, support month-end close, lead the revenue side of external audits, and mentor junior team members. Key Responsibilities: - Serve as the ASC 606 subject matter expert, providing guidance on complex and non-standard customer contracts across all international entities - Act as the primary accounting representative on the Deal Desk, reviewing and approving non-standard arrangements in compliance with US GAAP - Manage the company's revenue recognition automation software, ensuring accurate system configuration for all products and revenue streams - Prepare technical accounting memos documenting US GAAP positions for new products, pricing changes, and complex transactions - Lead the revenue workstream for external audits and quarterly reviews - Own revenue-related financial statement disclosures in accordance with US GAAP - Support the design and operating effectiveness of the SOX-compliant internal control framework - Drive process improvement and automation initiatives across the revenue and reporting cycles - Mentor and develop members of the broader accounting team What You'll Bring - CPA designation required - 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; a mix of Big 4 public accounting and industry experience strongly preferred - Deep, hands-on expertise in US GAAP and ASC 606 — complex revenue recognition scenarios are your comfort zone - Experience managing external audit processes from the company side - Proven experience in a SOX-compliant environment - Strong track record of process improvement and automation - Experience with a major ERP such as NetSuite is a solid asset - Excellent communication skills — able to translate complex accounting concepts for non-finance stakeholders Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2od437
