Your new company Hays is partnered with a boutique, hospitality-focused interiors firm with over 30 years of experience delivering thoughtful, high-quality design. Currently in a growth phase, they are looking to add an Intermediate Interior Designer to their close-knit team, offering a unique opportunity to join a highly collaborative, hands-on studio environment. This firm specializes primarily in hospitality projects, with occasional commercial and office work, and operates in a fast-paced setting best suited to someone who thrives under pressure and enjoys being actively involved across multiple stages of a project lifecycle. Your new role In your role, your duties and responsibilities will be; work across hospitality-focused projects contributing to both design and production deliverables at all stages of the project lifecycle. Support the development of drawing packages from early concept design through to detailed construction documentation, including plans, elevations, details, and presentation materials. Collaborate closely with internal team members to ensure design intent, accuracy, and quality are maintained throughout. Coordinate with consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders as required, while managing revisions, redlines, and project updates in a timely manner. Take ownership of assigned tasks and project components, balancing multiple priorities and deadlines within a fast-paced, high-output environment. Contribute to a team culture centred on collaboration, accountability, and excellence, while bringing either prior hospitality project experience or a strong interest in this sector. What you'll need to succeed The successful candidate will bring 5+ years of interior design experience in Canada, with a strong understanding of local building codes and regulations, ideally within the Edmonton market. Experience in hospitality projects is preferred; however, individuals with a genuine interest in this sector and a desire to build deeper expertise will also be considered. You will hold a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from an accredited program and demonstrate strong technical proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp. A well-rounded design portfolio showcasing a range of project types and styles is essential. This role requires someone who is highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-output environment. Strong critical thinking skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision are key to success in this position.
