Medical Office Assistant (Edmonton)

We are a busy, fast-paced downtown medical office/surgical facility looking for a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our team. As an MOA, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic by providing administrative support to our doctors and providing exceptional care to our patients. Key Responsibilities: - Patient Intake: Greet patients, verify information, and ensure all relevant documentation is completed accurately. - Appointment Scheduling: Book, confirm, and reschedule appointments for patients when needed. - Phone and Email Communication: Answer phone calls, take messages, respond to patient inquiries and relay communications between patients and the doctors. - Faxing and Documentation: Receive, sort, and file incoming faxes and ensure they are processed accordingly. Position Details: - Flexibility in schedule and availability for immediate start. - Paid training and hands-on learning experience. Ideal Candidate: - Reliable with transportation to our downtown office (above Corona LRT station) - Proficient in spoken and written English, with robust computer and typing skills. - Strong communication, proactive learning, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. - Previous experience assisting doctors, especially in Ophthalmology/Optometry, is preferred. - Familiarity with HealthQuest is an asset.
