Description
About Us Inferno is a full-service design-build electrical and solar contractor serving commercial and light industrial clients across Alberta. Founded in 2019, we've built a reputation for quality work, strong safety culture, and doing what we say. We're growing and we're looking for a skilled service electrician to grow with us. Why Work at Inferno? - Steady, varied work — service calls, small projects, and solar maintenance keep every week different - Company vehicle, laptop, and cell phone - Competitive hourly rate ($40–$50/hr) plus performance bonus - Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits - Leadership that listens — small team, real input - Opportunity for growth as the company expands About the Role This is a service electrician role, first and foremost. You'll be doing what you already know how to do - troubleshooting, repairs, small electrical projects, and service calls on commercial and industrial sites across Alberta. On top of that, you'll take on scheduled maintenance inspections of commercial solar arrays we've installed, coordinate those visits with property managers, write up condition reports, and manage any repairs needed. The solar side is learnable - if you're a solid service electrician who's good with computers and comfortable reading/setting up network and inverter settings, we'll train you on the rest. If you're interested in drone-based thermal inspections, even better — we'll support you getting your Advanced RPAS certificate. If not, we have other partners we can use for the drone piece. This role is based out of our Edmonton office. Travel is approximately 2–3 weeks per year in total and does not need to be consecutive - most of it is day trips or short stays across Alberta. What You'll Be Doing Day-to-day electrical service work - Troubleshoot and repair commercial electrical systems - Perform service calls and small electrical projects between scheduled maintenance visits - Support construction crews on solar installations as needed Solar array maintenance - Schedule annual O&M; inspections and coordinate access with property managers - Perform scheduled maintenance inspections on commercial solar installations - Monitor inverter portals for error codes, alarms, and underperformance — investigate and respond accordingly - Document system conditions, identify issues, and produce written reports for customers - Manage repairs, warranty claims (RMAs), and ensure work orders and invoices are completed - Commission solar arrays, EV charging, battery storage, and communications equipment - Configure and verify inverter settings, monitoring platforms, and network communications - Perform or coordinate thermal imaging of arrays and electrical equipment What We're Looking For - Journeyman or Red Seal Electrician - ESTS (Electrical Safety Training & Systems) certification - Safety tickets: CSTS, First Aid, AWP, Fall Arrest - Experience with Bluebeam, SiteDocs, or similar field software - 4+ years commercial electrical experience - Service background — you're comfortable working independently, diagnosing problems, and getting things done without a crew around you - Organized - Valuable with computers, software, and networks - Strong written communication - Class 5 driver's license with a clean record Assets — Nice to Have, Not Required - Solar, EV charging, or battery storage experience - Familiarity with SolarEdge, Fronius, SMA, Solis, or similar inverter platforms - Advanced RPAS (drone) certificate or willingness to obtain one Our Values - Put yourself in the shoes of the customer - Provide solutions - Do what you say - Own the outcome - Never stop learning - Set our people up for success To Apply Apply via Indeed. Please confirm you hold a Journeyman or Red Seal Electrician certificate, current ESTS certification, and a clean Class 5 driver's license — these are firm requirements.
