Senior Accountant Edmonton

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to play a key role in maintaining accurate, timely, and reliable financial information. This role is responsible for supporting corporate accounting activities, leading portions of the month‑end close, maintaining reconciliations, and partnering with operations and project teams to ensure financial results reflect actual business performance. The ideal candidate will bring robust accounting fundamentals and experience in a project‑based workplace. Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To Lead assigned components of the month‑end close process with accuracy and timeliness Prepare and post routine and non‑routine journal entries, including accruals and adjustments Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and continuity schedules with proper documentation and review Support the preparation of monthly financial reporting and variance analysis for management Prepare audit working papers and assist with external audit requirements Maintain internal controls, accounting procedures, and system integrity Support compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and financial controls Work closely with operations and project teams to align financial reporting with operational activity Coordinate close activities across departments to ensure deadlines are met Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements Mentor and support junior accounting staff while promoting accountability and accuracy Support additional finance initiatives and projects as required Your strengths include CPA designation 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central considered an asset Robust analytical, organizational, and communication skills J-18808-Ljbffr Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2pn1ng
