Overview

As a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP), you will serve as a front‑line healthcare provider within EHS Operations across the Edmonton metro area. Your day will involve assessing emergency scenes, transporting patients between facilities, operating ambulances, and administering BLS airway adjuncts and semi‑automated defibrillation. You will also lead the BLS crew during clinical care delivery, ensure all EMS vehicles are fully stocked and equipped, and expose yourself to harsh weather, industrial, and agricultural environments. Physical demands include lifting, carrying, kneeling, and maintaining awkward positions for extended periods, with the capabilityto move patients and equipment up to 105 lbs.Key Responsibilities

Assess emergency scenes and patients for medical intervention. Transport ill or injured patients between emergency scenes and facilities. Operate ambulances and other transportation modes safely. Administer minor medications, BLS airway adjuncts, and semi‑automated defibrillation. Lead and coordinate the BLS crew during patient transport and emergency scenes.Ensure ambulances and other EMS vehicles are properly stocked, equipped, and functional. Operate effectively in all weather conditions and remote locations, managing exposure to hazardous and graphic scenes. Maintain physical readiness, including frequent lifting, carrying, kneeling, and sustained awkward positions.Required Qualifications

Non‑restricted registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACOP) as a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) CPR certification. Valid Class4 Alberta Operator License or equivalent. A five‑year driver abstract current within six months with no more than six demerits.Successful completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test (certificate from Lifemark) within six months of application. Ability to perform all operational duties from the start date. Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with Emergency Health Services (EHS) in metro, suburban, rural, or inter‑facility settings. Experience in Health Care and Public Safety roles. Completion of additional post‑secondary programs is considered an asset. Capacity to travel in all weather conditions and remote locations.
