Senior Geotechnical/Geological Engineer (Edmonton)

Role Overview Senior Civil/Geotechnical Engineer(s) for Klohn Crippen Berger's Edmonton office, part of the Alberta Group. The role includes leading multi-disciplinary teams and advancing your career within an One Team culture. Responsibilities - Act as Project Manager and Technical Lead for civil/geotechnical engineering projects in highway and railway geohazard engineering, water supply/management, power generation, mining, and dam safety. - Prepare assessments, investigations, instrumentation, analysis, and designs for rehabilitation and removal of dams and appurtenant facilities. - Develop tender documents, specifications, and related drawings for construction and tendering processes. - Oversee field assignments and supervise construction administration. - Build and maintain client relationships and engage in business development activities to grow the company’s service offerings. - Travel within western and northern Canada, primarily Alberta, British Columbia, Northwest Territories, and Yukon Territory. Qualifications - Registered Professional Engineer in Canada. - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering. - Minimum of 10 years of related experience. - Solid initiative, innovation, and commitment to technical excellence. - Demonstrated leadership, decision‑making, coaching, and mentoring skills. - Superior verbal and written communication skills, including experience in writing proposals, technical reports, and general project correspondence. - Strong design/analysis skills and experience preparing related drawings and specifications for tendering and construction. - Proven construction experience encompassing the practice areas of highway, rail, water, power, and mining. - Experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D. - Willingness to oversee and complete field assignments, work additional hours when necessary, and travel as required.
