About The Legal, Compliance, and Public Affairs Team The Legal, Compliance, and Public Affairs team is dedicated to helping affirm scale, innovate, and provide outstanding products for consumers, merchants, and key partners. We combine legal, compliance, and policy expertise to guide growth, shape products, and build trust across the ecosystem. Our work spans multiple professional disciplines and provides the foundation for affirm’s mission to deliver honest financial products. Affirm’s compliance team designs and implements a compliance program that proactively addresses regulatory requirements while also identifying potential compliance issues. Activities include advisory, training, testing & monitoring, reporting, and oversight. Compliance partners with the business to support new products, markets, and initiatives, address root causes of issues, and develop remediation plans. Compliance Lead – Direct��to‑Consumer Product Compliance team The role focuses on product advisory, partnering with Product, Engineering, and Operations throughout development. Responsibilities include helping teams identify risks, navigating ambiguous scenarios, balancing regulatory expectations with business and customer considerations, and providing compliant yet practical guidance. You will evaluate trade‑offs and develop flexible, well‑reasoned solutions that enable progress while managing risk. Key Responsibilities - Collaborate with the Product teams to identify and mitigate compliance risks without compromising business objectives. - Review and approve financial services marketing materials to ensure regulatory compliance. - Partner with compliance, legal, risk, and product teams to complete reviews and address root causes of compliance issues. - Develop and maintain compliance training and reference materials. - Operate in a fast‑paced environment while delivering detailed, diligent work. - Support the completion of compliance risk assessments and control inventories, collecting and documenting results. - Serve as an expert on regulatory compliance, especially as it applies to new and revised financial products and services. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (compliance certifications a plus) - 5+ years of experience in a compliance product advisory role within financial services - Experience supporting or advising on products subject to TILA (Reg. Z) and/or EFTA (Reg. E) - Experience working in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments and making risk‑based decisions with incomplete information - Experience advising revenue‑generating stakeholder groups, ideally including product and engineering teams - Strong interest in fintech and consumer financial protections - Working knowledge of consumer financial laws and regulations (UDAAP, CAN‑SPAM, FCRA, TCPA, ECOA, TISA) - Inquisitive, proactive in identifying problems, proposing creative solutions, and adapting in a fast‑paced environment - Ability to work in a self‑directed setting with strong strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills, operating with minimal guidance - Strong verbal and written communication skills, presenting complex issues clearly Pay Grade J Equity Grade 4 Compensation Employees new to affirm typically start at the beginning of the pay range. Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include monthly stipends for health, wellness, and tech spending, and benefits that include 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents. Employees may be eligible for equity rewards offered by affirm holdings, inc. The base pay range per year is $102,000 – $142,000.
