Norquest Industries Inc. is a progressive and innovative Machine Shop based in Edmonton. We serve a variety of industries throughout Canada and around the world. Our manufacturing capacity includes High Production, Complex Machining, Controlled Cycle, and Manual Machining capabilities. We are currently seeking a high quality CNC Programming Machinist with a proven track record of excellent efficiency and accuracy. Shift Vacancies: Day Day Shift Hours: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday Company Benefits 100% Company Paid Health, Dental and Vision Benefits $400.00 HSE Annual Allowance Goals and Key Result Areas: Develop accurate and efficient CNC programs to support production requirements. Create and verify solid models to ensure alignment with engineering drawings. Define machining strategies that optimize cycle time, setup time, and tool life. Maintain accurate control of CNC programs, models, and revisions. Support production teams to meet or exceed quality, delivery, and efficiency targets. Drive continuous improvement in machining processes and setup efficiency. Responsibilities and Key Tasks: Program, simulate, and verify CNC programs for new and existing parts. Model parts and verify customer-supplied and internally generated models against drawings. Develop machining strategies, including tooling, setup plans, and order of operations. Provide technical support and guidance to setters and operators regarding setup and proper program use. Identify and recommend productivity, quality, and process improvement opportunities. Troubleshoot machining challenges using a high level of initiative and problem solving skills. Maintain and control CNC program and model databases, including revisions, machine assignment, and validation status. Assist with quoting and feasibility reviews for complex or non-standard parts as required. Support cross-functional activities by assisting in setter/operator roles when needed. Comply with all HSE, QMS and Corporate policies at Norquest. Perform other duties as assigned by a Supervisor or Department Manager. Qualifications: Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining principles. Minimum 5 years experience with SolidWorks. Minimum 5 years experience with Mastercam. Experience with CIMCO preferred. Working knowledge of G-code programming is an asset. Experience with CNC turning and milling operations; multi-axis (including 7 axis) machining is an asset. Red Seal Journeyman Machinist certification is an asset. Strong numerical and literacy skills (minimum Grade 10 education). Excellent time management and organizational skills. Robust communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
