Your Opportunity: The DI Nursing department at the Royal Alexandra Hospital is a fast-paced environment providing support to patients receiving DI exams and interventional services. Must demonstrate commitment to patient and family centered care. Ability to multitask and care for acutely ill and unstable patients. This position will heavily support CT. Description: As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization. - Classification: Licensed Practical Nurse - Union: AUPE AUX - Unit and Program: Diagnostic Imaging - Nursing - Primary Location: Royal Alexandra Hospital - Location Details: As Per Location - Multi-Site: Not Applicable - FTE: 1.00 - Posting End Date: 08-JUN-2026 - Temporary Employee Class: Temp F/T Perks - Date Available: 18-JUN-2026 - Temporary End Date: 29-FEB-2028 - Hours per Shift: 7.75 - Length of Shift in weeks: 12 - Shifts per cycle: 60 - Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Weekends - Days Off: As Per Rotation - Minimum Salary: $33.16 - Maximum Salary: $43.42 - Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications: Critical thinking and ability to manage unpredictable situations. Hemodynamic monitoring, arrhythmia interpretation, physical assessments, and aseptic techniques. Certification in IV initiation, direct IV medication, CVC, PICC lines, & blood glucose monitoring. Must be a team player, adaptable and flexible and the ability to jump in and always help. Experience coordinating services for patient movement through sites and zones for procedures. Supporting patients from all socio-economic high-risk demographics with compassion and respect. Working all required shift patterns. Must be able to complete all components of the job including OHS/WHS requirements of pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting 50 lb. and wearing lead aprons (23lbs) for long periods of time >6.25hrs. Stand/walk for most of the shift. Medication administer/handle including narcotics independently in an unsupervised environment. Preferred Qualifications: As required.
