Intermediate Accountant - Contract (Edmonton)

We’re looking for an Intermediate Accountant in Edmonton, AB with an immediate start. We are seeking a candidate with at least 3-5 years of full-cycle accounting experience at a company with multiple entities. The contract is anticipated to go until the end of October 2026. Our client is a well-known organisation in the entertainment industry, recognized for delivering engaging experiences and fostering a collaborative, quick-paced setting. They are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented accounting professional to support their finance team during a key period. The Intermediate Accountant will be responsible for full-cycle transactional accounting and assisting with month-end, reporting, and audit requirements, working with minimal supervision in a multi-entity environment. Intermediate Accountant responsibilities: - Manage end-to-end processing of accounts payable, including invoices, expense reports, and weekly payment runs - Prepare accounts receivable invoices and monitor collections - Reconcile customer accounts and general ledger entries to support month-end and year-end close activities - Prepare and post journal entries - Maintain organised records of procurement transactions and ensure documentation aligns with company policies - Support and uphold accounting controls by adhering to Finance Department procedures - Perform monthly balance sheet schedules, including preparing bank reconciliations - Reconcile related party transactions - Prepare and file Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns in compliance with regulatory requirements - Contribute to the annual budgeting process by providing financial data and analysis - Support year-end audit activities - Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned The successful candidate has: - 3–5 years of full-cycle accounting experience - Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field - Experience working in a multi-entity environment - Strong proficiency in preparing bank reconciliations - Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative - Proven ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment - Highly motivated with a strong work ethic - High attention to detail and strong organisational skills - Proficiency in accounting systems and Excel Compensation and benefits: - The discussed salary range is $30 – $35 per hour, depending on experience - Parking pass provided Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
