JOB DESCRIPTION: We are currently accepting resumes for an experienced Class 1 Local Region Switch Driver for both local and short haul to join our Kamloops, BC terminal. This unique role primarily services local routes throughout Kamloops, Vernon, Salmon Arm, and Kelowna, with occasional line haul switch work as needed. The shift is full time, Tuesday-Saturday with overtime opportunities available. Start Date: As Soon As Possible Job Summary: The successful applicant will be expected to perform the following: - Operate Class 1 vehicles for local deliveries & pick ups, with occasional line haul switch work - Safely transport goods to designated locations - Assist with loading/unloading of materials at the warehouse - Maintain accurate delivery logs and documents - Ensure all safety regulations and standards are followed - Perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles / power units - A degree of flexibility to work a variety of shifts/assignments as business demand arises. - Provide excellent customer service during deliveries Remuneration: - Competitive hourly pay rates (potential for $90,000+ and overtime) - Full perks (medical & dental) - Matching RRSP - Union Representation Qualifications: In order to be qualified, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements: - Valid Class 1 license (standard transmission a plus) - Flat deck experience and b-train experience - Previous warehouse/loading experience a plus - Knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations - Driver's abstract must show no driving-related criminal code convictions in the prior 36 months; no more than 2 moving violations in the prior 12 months; and no more than 3 moving violations in the prior 36 months. The date of conviction and the current date will be the date used to determine time periods - Must be able to pass pre-employment drug testing - Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs - Proficient in English (both reading and writing) - Self-motivated and dependable Remit your resume and ‘N’ type driver’s abstract to be considered.
