Building Maintenance Worker, Ahuntsic North

The Voorheesville Central School District has a full time probationary position for a Building Maintenance Worker at the secondary campus. This is semi-skilled work involving responsibility for independently performing variety of mechanical and other building maintenance tasks.

General Duties

Work as Maintenance Worker includes performing semi-skilled work as needed. Examples of work include, but are not limited to: perform semi-skilled work in masonry, carpentry, electrical or painting operations; help install and repair wiring systems and electric fixtures and equipment; repair windows, doors, floors; interior and exterior painting; help to install and repair general plumbing equipment; operate trucks and other motorized equipment. Experience in sports field maintenance, snow removal and lawn care beneficial.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Hours: Generally M-F (6:00a.m.-2:30p.m.), may work occasional weekends, as needed.

Qualifications

High school graduate, applicable training beyond high school a plus.

Willingness to work as needed.

Neat appearance (uniform required).

Willingness to work the schedule that best suits the District needs.

Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

One (1) year of experience in either general building construction or maintenance work in one or more of the standard trades, such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or grounds keeping.

Valid NYS Driver’s License required.

Fingerprint clearance required.
