The National Arts Centre (NAC) is Canada’s bilingual, multi-disciplinary home for the performing arts. The NAC presents, creates, produces, and co-produces performing arts programming in various streams— the NAC Orchestra, Dance, English Theatre, French Theatre, Indigenous Theatre, and Popular Music and Variety—and nurtures the nextgeneration of audiences and artists from across Canada. The NAC is located in the National Capital Region on the unceded territory of the Anishinabe Algonquin Nation.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday (40 hours per week, based on the 2025 collective agreement)
Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the incumbent is responsible for performing a range of duties including but not limited to inspect, repair and maintain plumbing or mechanical systems, perform trouble shooting and emergency repairs, accompany inspectors and coordinate contractors, maintain cleanliness of work areas, care for tools and equipment, prepare required reports, and perform other duties as required. The incumbent also performs emergency work and performs other tasks, as requested.
Skill Requirements
Successful completion of a high school diploma;
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a related plumber position or a related millwright position;
Must possess and provide proof of a valid Plumber Certificate of Qualifications or a valid Construction Millwright Certificate of Qualifications;
Good organizational skills, initiative and autonomy;
Ability to follow directions and work with limited supervision;
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a good working relationship with colleagues and clients;
Ability to work under pressure and to react quickly in emergency situations;
Must be able to stand&exert well paced mobility for up to 8 hours;
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks;
WHMIS training a definite asset and will be required upon hire;
Training in vibration analysis, balancing and greasing knowledge/training is an asset;
Bilingual in both official languages (English and French), oral and written is an asset;
A past record of satisfactory attendance and punctuality is a requirement.
*Regular attendance at work is an expectation of employment and an essential part of every job.
