Description You are a Superintendent who will assume a leadership role by providing guidance to project staff and is responsible for the smooth functioning of day-to-day operations. Responsibilities will include safety and environmental oversight, quality control, developing and implementing agreed-upon field project plans and schedules, delegating work to field staff, contractors and trades, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
Hire and manage hourly employees as required to complete the project in consultation with the Project Manager.
Ensure that site safety measures meet or exceed the parameters set out by the corporate safety manual, Workers’ Compensation Board, or any other authorities.
Ensure that projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, applicable building codes, and that labour and material efficiency maintain high quality standards.
Review, maintain and update the construction schedule and ensure milestone and completion dates are met.
Plan and execute system completion and system turnover.
Maintain, approve, and submit hourly digital timesheets with all necessary details for job costing and reporting purposes.
Prepare field change orders to be signed by the project owner or representative when requested.
Review subtrade/supplier invoices against the field purchase orders and report any discrepancies to the Project Manager or the accounting department.
Manage the safety and performance of subtrade work.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Certified Journeyperson Powerline Technician
15+ years of powerline construction experience and 5+ years of experience as a superintendent.
Combination of work experience in a similar role and industry-related trade certification/education.
Experience on industrial / oil&gas, or mining projects and assets.
Understanding of industrial documents and ability to ensure they are complete, protect the owner’s interest, clearly define expectations and provide incentive to perform.
Knowledge of construction costs and budgets.
Strong safety record and ability to work with a variety of individuals.
Ability to plan and manage a project schedule.
Able to focus on developing long-term partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure our contributions to their continuing success.
Influence client and/or organizational leadership to accomplish operational objectives.
Anticipate problems or challenges, propose innovative solutions, and ensure solutions are consistent with project objectives.
Working Conditions
Site-based role, with a possible rotational shift depending on project location.
A living allowance or accommodations will be provided. Travel allowances will also be provided.
Between projects, there will be a mix of in-office work and work from home.
Compensation $106,800.00 - $146,850.00. This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
