Accounting Manager (Markham)

Location: Markham, ON (4 days in office) Rate: $95,000-105,000 Industry: Software Position Type: Existing Vacancy We're hiring an Accounting Manager to join a growing financial services software company in the GTA. This is a high-impact role for a hands‐on accounting leader who thrives in a multi‐entity environment and wants visibility into both operations and FP&A.; What You'll Own Reporting to the Controller, you'll lead the day‐to‐day accounting function. Month‐end close, GL reconciliations, AP/AR oversight, and financial reporting across Canadian and U.S. entities. You'll also support budgeting, forecasting, margin analysis, and audit coordination, making this a genuinely broad role with room to grow. You'll directly supervise one accounting staff (AR clerk) and be the person your team looks to for guidance, process clarity, and accountability. What the Role Involves Full ownership of month‐end close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations Intercompany transactions and multi‐entity reporting (Canada + U.S.) Internal controls, accounting policies, and staff accountability Audit support - documentation, schedules, and auditor responses Government remittances across multiple jurisdictions Variance analysis and ad‐hoc reporting for the executive team Supporting the Controller on FP&A; activities: margin analysis, revenue analysis, gross profit monitoring, and file pricing What You Bring 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience 1–2 years leading or supervising a team Strong ERP skills — SAGE Intacct experience is a plus Solid knowledge of ASPE; familiarity with U.S. GAAP is an asset Someone who can run a tight close, develop their team, and communicate clearly to leadership Why This Role This is a chance to step into genuine ownership of the accounting function at a company with real complexity — multi‐entity, cross‐border, and operationally active.
