About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Human Resources Generalist to support daily HR operations at a fast-paced 3PL warehouse facility. This role is responsible for delivering full-cycle HR support to a high-volume, hourly workforce while ensuring compliance with Ontario labour laws and company policies. You will be a key partner to operations leadership, driving employee engagement, performance management, and HR best practices on the warehouse floor.



Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Workforce Support

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution
  • Conduct investigations related to workplace issues, including attendance, conduct, and policy violations
  • Support progressive discipline processes in compliance with Ontario employment standards
  • Promote a positive workplace culture in a high-turnover, high-volume environment

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for warehouse roles (e.g., pickers, packers, forklift operators, supervisors)
  • Coordinate job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and offers
  • Conduct recent hire orientations and onboarding sessions
  • Partner with staffing agencies when applicable

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with:
  • Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA)
  • Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
  • Human Rights Code
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data
  • Support audits, reporting, and documentation requirements

Attendance, Performance & Workforce Metrics

  • Track attendance, absenteeism, and turnover trends
  • Support supervisors with performance management and coaching processes
  • Assist in implementing productivity and workforce planning strategies

Health & Safety Support

  • Collaborate with Health & Safety teams to ensure safe working conditions
  • Participate in incident investigations and return-to-work programs
  • Reinforce safety policies and training compliance

Payroll & Benefits Support

  • Process payroll, including data validation (hours, overtime, shift premiums)
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to pay and benefits
  • Support benefit enrollment and changes

Training & Development

  • Coordinate training sessions (e.g., onboarding, compliance, safety)
  • Identify skills gaps and support workforce development initiatives



Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • CHRP designation (or working toward) is an asset
  • 2–5 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in:
  • Warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution environments

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of Ontario employment legislation (ESA, OHSA)
  • Experience supporting a high-volume hourly workforce
  • Ability to handle sensitive employee relations issues professionally
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced setting
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Working Conditions

  • Fully on-site in a warehouse environment (including floor presence daily)
  • May require flexible hours to support multiple shifts (days, afternoons, occasional weekends)
  • Frequent walking and interaction with operational teams on the warehouse floor

Base Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000, plus bonus
