Our client is seeking a seasoned Regional Operations Manager to lead a high-profile Toronto-region Transportation facility based in Mississauga, with responsibility for a very large scope, significant throughput and reach.

Role overview

This is a hands-on leadership role for an operationally strong, commercially minded professional who has well demonstrated capabilities of directing, coordinating, and continuously improving regional performance. The successful candidate will ensure the terminal operates efficiently and profitably while maintaining exceptional service standards, strong supplier relationships, and disciplined control of revenue, cost, and service outcomes.

The position requires someone that balances day-to-day execution with broader leadership across operations, customer service, supplier management, and business development. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate exemplary leadership, outstanding communication skills, and the utmost discretion when handling sensitive matters.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the overall direction, coordination, and performance of the operation
  • Ensure the operation is run efficiently and profitably through close monitoring of freight levels, financial performance, daily revenues, and costs
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop, implement, and enforce administrative and operational policies and procedures
  • Work closely with suppliers to maintain service standards, resolve exceptions, and support strong working relationships
  • Address customer service issues, including service failures and claims, and implement procedures that improve service and reduce recurring problems
  • Partner with sales teams to support service consistency, customer retention, and new business development
  • Provide leadership and supervision in accordance with company policies and applicable legislation

Required Qualifications

Ideal candidates bring deep operational knowledge, proven management experience, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment. They will have strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, excellent interpersonal ability, and a disciplined approach to cost control and continuous improvement.

Experience in a large-scale, high-volume logistics or transportation environment is highly desirable, along with the confidence to lead through complexity, maintain composure under pressure, and make sound decisions that have a meaningful operational impact.
