Work Term: Permanent Work Language: English Hours: 32 to 44 hours per week Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years Tasks Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions Mountain driving expertise Professionalism in customer service Load and unload goods Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment Perform emergency roadside repairs Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle Perform preventive maintenance Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses AZ class license Air Brakes Endorsement Driver's License (Class 1 or A) Documentation knowledge Accident or incident reports Bill of lading Driver logbook Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip) Maintenance and repair reports Transportation/travel experience Local Regional Security and safety Driving record check (abstract) Transportation/travel information Valid driver's licence Work conditions and physical capabilities Handling heavy loads Large workload Physically demanding Repetitive tasks Sitting Personal suitability Excellent oral communication Judgement Reliability Team player Hardworking Screening questions Are you authorized to work in Canada?
