Truck Driver - Class 1, Cranbrook

Position: Truck Driver - Class 1 (Cranbrook, BC)

Overview Terus Construction, a division of Colas Western Canada Inc., seeks a licensed Class 1 truck driver for operations in Cranbrook, BC.

Main Responsibilities

Licensed and able to safely operate a Class 1 Truck.

Complete driving assignments in a timely and safe manner.

Work extended hours&irregular days with irregular breaks.

Maintain necessary logs, driving records and DOT certifications.

Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicle.

Complete all other tasks assigned by supervisor or manager.

Perform a variety of tasks as needed or required when not delivering concrete.

Willing to travel and work out town occasionally (Hotels/LOA provided as required).

Technical Requirements

Operate and perform daily inspections on trucks safely.

Possess mechanical aptitude.

Ability to back up efficiently and safely.

Knowledge of road construction procedures.

Knowledge of applicable safety legislation and ability to perform pre- and post-trip equipment checks and accurately complete driver log books.

Identify safety hazards.

Requirements

Class 1 License.

Pass an MVR Test.

Preferred but not required: Experience operating a Class 1 truck in construction areas.

Experience with moving equipment and assets.

Clean driver abstract.

Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

Compensation and Benefits Hourly wage: $37-$39 CAD per hour, determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Competitive salary and benefits package, in-house training, and career advancement opportunities available.
