Cemetery Lettering Technician (Orillia)

Crossroads Staffing is recruiting a Cemetery Lettering Engraver for a long-standing, family-owned monument company in the Orillia area. This is a highly specialized and meaningful trade that plays an important role in honouring families and their loved ones. In this role, you will engrave inscriptions on monuments that are already installed in cemeteries. Cross-training is also provided in the production shop, particularly in the layout department. Key Responsibilities - Travel to cemeteries to complete on-site monument engraving - Operate mobile compressors, sandblasting equipment, and specialized tools - Cut detailed stencils with precision and accuracy - Prepare, mask, and finish inscriptions on granite monuments - Maintain professionalism and respect in sensitive cemetery environments - Assist in the production shop or with other crews as required What You Bring - Ability to work independently and stay organized - Strong attention to detail - Good fine motor skills and hand coordination (stencil cutting is a major component) - Mechanical aptitude (asset) - Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions - Willingness to work longer hours during peak seasons - Occasional overnight travel (company-paid meals & accommodations) - Valid G driver’s licence + clean driving abstract - Ability to perform moderate physical labour, including lifting and working around heavy monuments and equipment - Qualified, respectful conduct when working around families and cemetery staff Why This Opportunity Stands Out - $26/hr to start - Benefit package after 3 months on employer payroll (50% employer-paid) - All travel expenses covered for overnight stays - Long-term, stable career in a specialized trade - Supportive, family-oriented team with cross-training opportunities Hours & Pay - Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM - Bi-weekly pay - Overtime after 44 hours We are committed to an inclusive, barrier-free recruitment and selection process and workplace.
