Our client, a quickly growing law firm, is looking for an experienced Executive Legal Assistant to join their growing team. They are looking for a hands-on assistant to support a very busy litigation lawyer and 2 associates. This role would require someone proactive, who ideally has litigation experience and someone who is experienced in working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough legal research using various resources to support lawyers' case strategies and arguments
- Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents, memos, and correspondence under the guidance of lawyers
- Organize and manage case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed, indexed, and readily accessible
- Communicate effectively with clients, lawyers, and court officials, answering inquiries, providing updates, and scheduling appointments
- Maintain lawyers' calendars, scheduling meetings, court appearances, and deadlines.
- File legal documents with courts and administrative agencies
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience, preferably in litigation
- A strong understanding of legal terminology
- Solid computer skills
- The ability to prioritize work and complete it promptly
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for proficient correspondence
- Familiarity with court registries to navigate legal procedures effectively
- Proficiency in maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information
