Structural Engineer — Intermediate Trave Structural Inc. | Toronto, ON We're a small structural engineering firm with a reputation for complex, high-quality work. Boutique by choice, not default. We're principal-led, which means the people running the projects are the same people who own the firm — and you'll be working directly with them from day one. We're growing, and we're hiring someone to grow with us. What the job actually is Multi-material structural design — steel, concrete, timber, masonry — across institutional, commercial, and heritage projects. You'll be involved from concept through construction administration, coordinate directly with architects and other consultants, and show up to site when the work requires it. We don't do siloed specialization. If you want to spend three years running beam schedules before you're trusted with anything interesting, we're probably not your firm. If you want to do real engineering, we are. What we need - A degree in civil or structural engineering - P.Eng. licensed in Ontario — or actively in the process, or eligible to transfer under Canadian interprovincial mobility - Demonstrated working knowledge of NBCC, OBC, CSA S16, CSA A23.3, and CSA O86 — you don't need to quote clause numbers cold, but you need to know what they mean and where to find what you need - Experience with ETABS and Revit (or equivalent); SECURE, SAP, RISA and Woodworks Sizer is a bonus - The ability to manage your own work without hand-holding — and the judgment to ask when you should - Strong communication skills — we work with design-focused architects and you'll be in those conversations What will make you stand out Experience with heritage structures or adaptive reuse. An eye for where structure and architecture intersect. The instinct to flag a problem before it becomes one. Strong opinions about how things should be detailed — and the technical basis to back them up. A personality that can hold its own in a room.
