Description
Position Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal operation of all manufacturing equipment, building systems, and facility maintenance tasks within the facility. The Maintenance Tech is responsible for troubleshooting systems; performing preventive and predictive maintenance on all installed equipment to minimize downtime, while keeping safety and quality as a priority; providing training and technical support to Production and Maintenance Team Members. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs for all plant equipment and building infrastructure (e.g., HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and facility) - Conduct daily inspections of air compressors, CNC machines and other critical equipment to ensure proper functionality. - Communicate effectively with production, facilities, and management teams to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruptions. - Manage relationships with external contractors and service providers for equipment repairs and facility upgrades. - Maintain accurate machine maintenance logs and update the QMS (machine log / journal) for equipment history and compliance. - Perform routine building, crane, forklift, extinguisher inspections to comply with safety regulations. - Handle scrap chip bin management, including disposal and coordination with recycling vendors if needed. - Perform equipment preventative maintenance, including lubrication, adjustment, and part replacements to minimize downtime. - Manage coolant systems, including swaps, top-ups, and monitoring for proper concentration levels. - Assist with weekly 5S initiatives, ensuring work areas are clean, organized, and properly stocked. - Maintain HVAC systems, replace filters and monitor building ventilation systems for optimal performance. - Manage building maintenance including coordinating repairs, contractor visits, and facility upkeep. - Enforce LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures and adhere to working at heights safety protocols. - Estimating costs and materials for projects - Preparing project schedules and reports - Conducting tests and analyses on machinery and components - Assist with optic programming for machinery as needed. - Support additional maintenance and facility tasks as assigned by management. Required Qualifications: - Technical diploma / certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electromechanics, or a related field (or equivalent experience). - Experience: 2-5 years of experience in machine repair/maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or mold-making workplace. - Strong mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills. - Working experience with preventive maintenance programs and safety compliance. - Demonstrated ability to operate forklifts, cranes, and other industrial equipment (certifications required). - Basic computer skills for logging maintenance activities in QMS. - Strong organizational skills with attention to details. - Ability to work independently and in a team environment - Ability to understand, anticipate and follow direction while exercising maturity of judgement. - Ability to work well in a fast paced environment and with a variable workload - Ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment in order to meet customer requirements - Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Valid driver’s license with a clean record. - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in varying temperatures. Working Environment: - Under the general direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician works independently and confers regularly with inside and outside contacts to ensure successful implementation of programs & projects. Acts as part of the first-response team in production-down situations, lending product and manufacturing expertise to keep production flowing through the plant. Shift changes may be required periodically in order to properly balance the skill sets of each shifts in order to protect the customer demand. Travel may be required with occasional overnight accommodation at various locations. Overtime may be required to meet program expectations. The Maintenance Tech may be exposed to elements such as temperature and noise during time spent in the plant or at customer or supplier facilities. Ability to obtain and retain a valid passport is required. - Use of PPE is mandatory.
