Senior Structural Bridge Engineer-Bridge Inspection (OSIM) …, Manitoba

Responsibilities Act as project manager, structural lead, and designer for engineering assignments Lead transportation structural inspection assignments and serve as supervising engineer on biennial OSIM inspections Attend site visits for pre‑design information gathering, construction, and post‑construction review Conduct inspections of existing bridges, culverts, and other transportation structures in accordance with the Ontario Structure Inspection Manual (OSIM), Ontario Health and Safety Act (OHSA), and other applicable standards Coordinate work with clients and other disciplines, including highway/road, electrical, drainage and environmental planning Analyze, evaluate, and design transportation structures including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and foundations Provide verbal and written direction to project team members and support staff Direct the CAD team for drawing preparation and review deliverables before client submission Prepare and review technical reports, tender documents, and cost estimates Provide recommendations and costings for bridges, culverts, and retaining walls, including required maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation Conduct tender evaluations and/or provide construction engineering services Conduct business development activities to secure new projects through client liaison and proposal preparation Attend and participate in team progress meetings Remain available for flexible hours, days, nights, and weekends, and for time away from home as required Complete daily health and safety documentation Review transportation structure projects to ensure budget, schedule, risk, and cost to complete estimates are appropriate Work within assigned projects and schedules Qualifications & Experience Successful experience analyzing, evaluating, rehabilitating, and designing bridges and culverts Interest in working both in office and field environments Ability to perform outdoor physical duties related to bridge inspection work Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle Robust computer skills, including experience with bridge inspection and asset management software, SAP2000, CSiBridge, and SFRAME Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills Ability to work in a team setting and excel in both bridge and multi‑disciplined projects Demonstrated interest in business development activities and proposal preparation Proven ability to supervise, direct, and mentor staff Organized and detail‑oriented Ability to direct a team and mentor the technical development of others Works well with minimal direction BASc or B.Eng. in civil/structural engineering with strong interest and experience in bridge engineering P.
