Senior Mechanical Layout Designer (Winnipeg)

We are seeking a Senior Layout Designer based out of our Toronto or Montreal Office. Responsibilities Building and managing all the discipline models that form the complete 3D model for the Project / Plant. Produce conceptual and final design 3D models for different disciplines when needed, within the processing plant industry. Drive connected BIM workflows on the project to improve collaboration between disciplines and utilize BIM users. Adhere to drawing office standards and procedures. General understanding of design codes and standards. Solid understanding of Building Information Modelling (BIM). Experience and capability to apply 4D and 5D uses. Experience working with scan data point cloud information. Experience in producing rendered images using Navisworks or other similar software packages. Process plant 3D layout experience. Working knowledge of applicable software and workflows. Drawing integration and interface with the overall design. Update, manage and modify 3D models to suit client requirements. Interpret flow diagrams, design packs or conceptual designs and prepare models for the project. Awareness of maintainability of mechanical equipment and plate work. Awareness of access and flow that would be required through a plant to suit client and engineer requirements. General knowledge of all disciplines required to pick up problems and propose possible solutions. Perform clash detection and report on clashes. Manage and host weekly reviews with engineering and client teams. Manage vendor equipment information (2D and 3D). Check detailer steelwork and plate work models against own design. AutoCAD and Advance Steel modelling experience required. Experience and capability to use Navisworks Manage with ease. Ability to produce animation/fly-throughs with Navisworks. Ensure quality of models is of a high standard through correct usage of software. Produce and manage models accurately according to client, drawing office and applicable standards and codes. Follow specific drawing office quality assurance procedures. Manage distribution of weekly review reports and clash detection reports; follow up on actions taken. Requirements Experience in a similar role within a multi-disciplinary EPCM environment. Experience using BIM 360 is advantageous. Employment Type Permanent Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this role is $140,000 to $165,000 annually, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
