Mechanical Designer for Mining Operations (Winnipeg)

Cementation is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our team in North Bay, ON. This role focuses on creating creative designs for underground mine infrastructure and temporary systems. As a vital member of our engineering team, you will develop best-for-project designs in collaboration with project leads and engineers. Key responsibilities include drafting 2D and 3D models, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications. Ideal candidates will bring a strong background in heavy construction or mining and possess excellent AutoCAD skills. Key Responsibilities: • Design and draft for underground mine shafts and facilities • Create accurate 2D drawings and compliant 3D models • Prepare design documentation including site plans and elevations • Check drawings, calculations, and vendor documents thoroughly • Identify design risks to optimize projects and ensure safety Requirements: • Minimum of 5 years in drafting and design experience • Post-secondary Technician or Technology Diploma required • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Advance Steel • Knowledge of a 3D parametric platform is an asset • Canadian citizenship or work authorization in Canada required Leverage your design expertise as a Mechanical Designer with Cementation to create impactful solutions in mining.
