Machine Operator, Grinding (Cylindrical/Surface) (North York), Winnipeg

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator (Grinding) to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating machines to produce precision parts and components. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes, the ability to read drawings/blueprints, and familiarity with precision grinding operations. The Machine Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently while adhering to quality standards. Duties Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to understand production requirements. Set up and operate grinding machines, including surface grinders and cylindrical grinders, to fabricate parts according to specifications. Conduct in-process inspections of parts utilizing precision measurement tools (analogue/digital), ensuring specifications and tolerances are met. Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with engineering/production/management teams to improve processes and implement lean manufacturing practices. Utilize hand tools to assist in the fabrication process. Safely operate forklifts, cranes, and other lifting devices as needed for material handling within the production area. Qualifications Proven experience as a machine operator in a precision grinding manufacturing environment. Robust ability to read drawing/blueprints and technical documents accurately. Basic mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is a plus. Competence in using hand tools and measuring devices effectively. A commitment to safety protocols and maintaining a clean work workplace.
