Production Worker (Abbotsford) (Winnipeg)

Overview Position at FloForm Countertops Required immediately, our LOCAL ABBOTSFORD BRANCH is seeking a Full-Time Production Worker (Tuesday - Friday 4x10 hour shifts 5:30am - 4pm). FLOFORM Countertops is a Canadian company with its head office in Winnipeg, MB and has 17 Showrooms and 8 fabricating facilities located in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. Responsibilities Maintain a protected work area, clean and clear of debris and clutter. Use water at all times to remove silica dust from the environment Set up work area by loading stone tops onto carts, using safe lifting practices and mechanical lift support when required Review technical drawings of stone tops to understand edging requirements and dimensions Grind, polish, contour, measure and inspect stone tops to conform to template specifications Prepare and cut edging pieces to size as per specifications. Laminate stacked or mitered edges using correct process and adhesives Polish, fill and repair areas to remove surface defects Utilize computer systems to update order status and mark progress Unload parts from work areas onto storage/shipping frames as required Review workspace for cleanliness and safety Follow safety rules and work safely around equipment, cranes and forklifts Support loading and unloading of equipment with guidance for productive operation Support other work areas as required and assigned by Supervisor Attend and participate in team huddles and training activities Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications 1 year experience in a similar role with polishing on natural stone and engineered quartz is an asset; auto detailing transferable skills also acceptable Experience using grinders and polishers is an asset Hardworking, motivated, well organized and task oriented Basic computer skills, MS Office Ability to read units of measurements Knowledge of hand woodworking tools and ability to operate power tools such as table saw, chop saw, grinders, polishers, etc. Strong communication (both written and verbal) Valid Driver’s License and clear criminal record check Benefits Wages starting at $23-$26 DOE Medical and dental benefits Paid sick time RRSP matching About FloForm FloForm Countertops offers a positive and fun working environment that rewards those who share in our mission: “To consistently provide our Customers the best countertop purchasing experience available.” How to Apply Should this prospect be of interest to you, submit a resume at today.
