We are seeking a proactive and experienced Maintenance Manager to join our large Shovels Mine Equipment Maintenance team. This role is accountable for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all maintenance activities, overseeing teams, optimizing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and ensuring consistent equipment performance. The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise, organizational capability, and a focus on maximizing uptime, driving cost‑effective maintenance practices, and fostering continuous improvement across all assets.Benefits

10+ years of maintenance/operations experience, including 5+ years in a leadership position Journeyperson certification and/or relevant post‑secondary education Strong financial acumen with budget and cost management experience Extensive experience with heavy mining equipment, including P&H 4100, CAT 7495, and EX8000 Advanced knowledge of electric rope shovel and EX8000 systems, including mechanical, hydraulic, structural, and high‑voltage electrical components Experience leading major shutdowns and rebuilds (scope, scheduling, labour, contractors) Responsibilities
Monitor equipment health and drive performance against key maintenance KPIs such as downtime, mean time between failures (MTBF), backlog, schedule compliance, and cost Ensure inspections, repair quality, and maintenance practices meet OEM, site, and regulatory standards Manage workforce performance and labour relations in a unionised environment, including attendance, coaching, and issue resolutionCoordinate workforce planning and crew utilisation to align resources with maintenance priorities Lead outages, major repairs, and component change‑outs, ensuring effective coordination of scope, labour, parts, tooling, and contractors Partner with reliability, planning, operations, and technical teams to deliver safe, efficient, and executable maintenance plansLocation and Key Details
Location: Base Plant site, Fort McMurray, Alberta. Hours: Regular 40‑hour work week, Monday to Friday, with potential for extended work hours based on business needs. This position is safety sensitive. If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory.
