BI Developer (Tableau) (Markham)

Overview Tableau Developer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise analytics dashboards to support data initiatives within an upgrade project. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, secure, and performant visual analytics that translate business requirements into actionable insights. The hourly rate is $70/hr to $80/hr. Key Responsibilities - Gather and analyze analytics requirements in collaboration with business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders. - Design and develop intuitive, interactive Tableau dashboards for multiple business functions. - Integrate Tableau with enterprise data sources, including databases, datasets, spreadsheets, and cloud platforms. - Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and timely refreshes across all dashboards. - Optimize Tableau workbooks and dashboards for performance, scalability, and usability. - Document dashboard designs, data sources, and development processes. - Provide user training, support, and knowledge transfer to promote adoption and effective use. - Implement security controls, user permissions, and compliance with data privacy and governance standards. - Troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance dashboards as requirements evolve. - Collaborate with IT, data engineers, and project teams to align on data strategy and delivery. - Continuously improve dashboard functionality by leveraging new Tableau features and industry best practices. Required Qualifications & Experience - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field. - 5+ years of experience as a Tableau Developer. - Proven experience supporting enterprise-scale data and analytics initiatives. - Strong proficiency with Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server. - Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases. - Experience with data integration tools and cloud data platforms preferred. - Ability to translate business requirements into effective analytics and dashboards. - Experience implementing data security, quality assurance, and compliance controls.
