Engineering Group > Software Engineering General Summary As a leading technology innovator, Qualcomm pushes the boundaries of what is possible to enable next‑generation experiences and drive digital transformation. In this role, you will design and develop CPU software telemetry tools that enable visibility, analysis, and optimization across complex embedded and cloud‑edge systems. You will work closely with cross‑functional partners to deliver reliable, scalable software solutions that support large‑scale products and platforms. Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. - Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. - PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. - 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, modify, and validate embedded and cloud‑edge software, applications, and specialized telemetry and tooling solutions. - Analyze user needs, software requirements, and technical constraints to design and customize software that improves system observability and operational efficiency. - Design and implement software components and modules used in large‑scale products and systems. - Lead and contribute to software design, coding, unit testing, debugging, and integration to ensure delivery meets functional, quality, and schedule requirements. - Perform complex code reviews, regression testing, issue triage, and defect resolution to maintain high software quality and reliability. - Collaborate with hardware, systems, and test engineering teams to ensure solutions integrate effectively across the full system. - Create and maintain clear, detailed technical documentation for complex software designs and tools. Level of Responsibility - Work independently with minimal supervision on complex technical assignments. - Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and peers. - Make decisions that impact work beyond the immediate team. - Communicate technical information effectively through written and verbal means, requiring collaboration and influence across teams. - Contribute to technical and organizational decisions through consultation with senior engineers and leadership. - Manage multi‑step tasks that require planning, problem solving, and prioritization to achieve successful outcomes. Preferred Qualifications - Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. - 8+ years of software engineering or related qualified experience. - 3+ years of experience with database management systems. - 3+ years of experience developing or working with APIs. - 1+ year of experience using source control systems such as Git or Perforce. Benefits and Compensation Pay range: $113,800.00 - $163,800.00 In addition to base salary, we offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunities for annual RSU grants.
