Autism In Mind Children's Charity is looking for a passionate and experienced CDA who is interested in working with children with autism in our clinic and school settings. This position is for full time 37.5 hours role including working on Saturdays. Our Vision Foster an inclusive society with no barriers for children with autism. Our Mission Raise awareness and acceptance in our communities, challenge the social stigmas of autism. Help others to understand that children with autism deserve equal opportunity to live up to their full potential. Enhance the lives of children with autism through our programs and support their participation in the community. Key Responsibilities: - Work under supervision of SLP regarding speech and language programming, resources, accommodations, and modifications for students with communication difficulties involving listening, speaking, reading, and/or writing. - Work closely with AIM's multidisciplinary team and collaborate to offer a comprehensive treatment plan. - Implement, troubleshoot and support augmentative alternative communication tools. - Create visuals that support session and plan creative treatment sessions to motivate each child. - Collect student specific data as requested by a SLP to help inform the programming recommendations provided. - Participate in meetings and committees as requested or approved by a supervising a supervisor. - Attend professional development and training as approved by the agency. - Work as an active member of the school and department teams to ensure the safety and success of all students. - Track, inventory and maintain SLP department equipment, materials and resources. - Demonstrate accountability for CDA professional practice standards and in accordance with established Board policies and procedures. Qualifications: - Must have at least 1 year hands on experience as a CDA or SLP-A - Knowledge of best evidence-based practice - Knowledge and hands on experience in ABA/Autism Spectrum disorder is an asset - Strong written, oral and non-verbal communication skills - Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle (home/community session as needed) - Experience with AAC - Outstanding organizational and time management skills The successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check before joining in-person. We will make accommodations as provided pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
