What’s the difference between estate agents and brokers?

The main roles are real estate agents and brokers. An estate agent has a professional license to help people buy, sell and rent properties. Estate agents always work under brokerages, although often the job of an agent can feel like you are your own boss, and you can set your own working hours. After real estate agents have worked for a few years they can take additional courses and exams to get their broker’s license. Then they can work completely independently, but will have to focus on making a name for themselves and acquiring clients. They can specialize as either a commercial or residential broker, and eventually hire real estate agents to work for them.
